Oh, June. We have high hopes for dry, warm sunny weather. Just to follow up on our great finds of local lobster rolls, it has been announced that the Easton’s Beach Snack Bar has relocated to Second Beach. We also wanted to add another fantastic breakfast sandwich collaboration with Mission and Le Bec Sucre that you will most certainly want to try! As always, we like to touch upon some new events and businesses and some very old, established places.

Weathervanes…A weathervane, wind vane, or weathercock is an instrument used for showing the direction of the wind. The word vane comes from the Old English word fana, meaning “flag”. Weathervanes have been an architectural ornament for hundreds of years and still enjoy immense popularity today. Both beautiful and functional, weathervanes sit on the highest point of the roof, or grace the cap of a cupola, to show the direction of the wind. Extremely popular in the northeast, weathervanes often feature various animals like horses, fish, and eagles as symbols of strength, swiftness, and freedom. On your next walk downtown in Newport, check out how many different and historically significant weathervanes you can find! Looking to add one to your property check out this site.
