Ocean Race
The sailing race around the world, The Ocean Race, will stopover in Newport for nine days of celebration, public activities, and fun for the entire family at the Ocean Live Park in Fort Adams State Park. 


The stopover will include; venues to watch the racing up close, a multi-sensory holographic show, sailing on a J22, Pit Row, kid activities, music, entertainment, food, cocktail café, dock-out shows, musical performances, racing exhibitions and so much more!

Oysters
The weekend to sip cocktails and enjoy oysters and chowder from local growers and vendors on the waterfront is coming. The 7th Annual Newport Oyster & Chowder Festival will happen on Bannisters Wharf May 20-21st.

The outdoor event features Oyster growers shucking alongside local restaurants while live music plays from some of the areas favorite bands on the wharf. The event is open to the public.

Open Garage
May is Bike month. In honor of bike month, Bike Newport has arranged a month long celebration with all things bike related. The season’s warmer weather and longer days have many people ready to take to the road again which means it is time for tune ups.

Did you know that Bike Newport has Open Garage days for people to understand and fix bicycles? Anyone can come and share knowledge, tools, and parts to repair and build bikes for free. No mechanical experience required! Mon & Thurs 4:30-7pm and Wed 2-5pm. Don’t want to do it yourself? Kick off bike month with some TLC and a tune-up at The Annex – 10% discount on tune-ups. They also offer self-guided tours, Bike Month Bingo, a Bicycle Scavenger Hunt, Bike to school day on Wednesday May 3rd, Full Moon Ride on May 5th, Bike to Work Day on May 19th and a bunch of great activities and virtual experiences at the Ocean Race May 13th-21st.
