Light up your home with a weekly floral subscriptions hosted by Newport’s Styled by Jenna. The store is making it easy treat yourself with fresh, seasonal flowers, all while supporting a local farm.
On trend in floral design is an emphasis on American-grown, locally grown flowers, says Jenna Kinghorn of Styled by Jenna. “Also we’re seeing very organic and romantic-style flowers, like you just picked them from the garden.”
And because these flowers were just picked from Weatherlow Farms in Westport, MA, the flowers stay fresher longer and actually have fragrance, she says. Most local flower farmers do not use pesticides on their crops.
So for the second year in a row, the store is teaming with Phoebe Poole from Weatherlow Florals to bring regular floral design to Aquidneck Island residents.
“Phoebe is an amazing flower florist/farmer and her bouquets are absolutely gorgeous,” Kinghorn says. “She is great local partner. We’ve done workshops together before, and she is actually doing a terrarium workshop at our store at the end of February. “I also get all my florals for our workshops from her,” Kinghorn says. “I like featuring local artists, makers and farmers at our store. It’s important to promote local. Plus she is so fun to collaborate with.”
Designs by Jenna also will have smaller versions of the bouquets available for purchase for $15, and new and vintage vases also will be available to showcase the arrangements.
Pick up is every Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Styled by Jenna, 13 Touro Street in Newport, or at the Weatherlow farm store in Westport. It is $270 for a nine-week subscription, and there is a spring and a summer subscription available. To sign up, visit Kinghorn’s shop or sign up online at https://weatherlowfarms.com/?page_id=1148.
